Jesus at the Door: Interview with Scott McNamara

During his time as a full-time evangelist for Causeway Coast Vineyard, Scott McNamara asked God to teach him how to become more effective at talking to people about Jesus on the streets. In an interview with Pete, he shares stories of seeing people come to know Jesus, and introduces us to ‘Jesus at the Door’ or ‘JAD 3:20’ – an initiative equipping and empowering Christians to share their faith on the streets.

Michael Ramsden: Where is the Love? (6.30pm)

Michael Ramsden explores the issue of love and judgement – if God is so loving then why do we read so much about judgement? Is there a loving God? Is God trustworthy? Michael suggests that real love doesn’t exist in the absence of judgement, it exists in the presence of it. The words “I love you” are meaningful when the person who speaks them knows the truth about you – when they know your weaknesses and shortcomings yet still choose to love you – and that’s precisely the way in which God loves us.

Michael Ramsden: Good God? (4.30pm)

We’re living at a time where anger seems to be rising. Speaking out of the book of Jonah, Michael Ramsden looks at an increase in victim culture, and how in every system of the world, justice and forgiveness are at tension with each other, apart from in the Christian faith. Michael suggests the hope of change can be found in the power of forgiveness.

Michael Ramsden: Peace, Reconciliation & the Bible (10.30am)

Michael Ramsden kicks off a day of teaching at KXC by exploring the sense of loss of peace in the world, addressing a question so many are asking: What does it mean to bring about reconciliation, and what does the Bible have to say about this?

Michael is the International Director for RZIM and Director of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.

What’s in your hand?

Serving is one of the defining features of a follower of Jesus, as it’s a defining feature of Jesus himself. We read in Matthew 20:28, “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” Pete Hughes looks at the principles and power of serving, asking the question, “what’s in your hand?”.
