Cath Carter continues our current teaching series by looking at Jesus with the sick.
Today’s culture has a tendency to think of ethics as an evolving notion. As civilisations have progressed, our morals have constantly evolved in an upward trajectory. If that were the case then we would have nothing to learn from the way of Jesus. However, the reality is that the model and example of Jesus is the climactic moment in all of human history. It doesn’t take a long look to conclude that the treatment of women in today’s society isn’t flourishing. This week Pete takes a deep dive into the context that Jesus was in, alongside today’s context and then challenges our approach to this moment.
London is longing for a community that becomes a living picture of the Kingdom of Heaven. Tyler Staton brings us a challenge to look honestly at our lives and community to see if it reflects this Kingdom. The followers of Jesus were asked, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?’ In response, Jesus showed and taught that proximity to the poor is an inseparable part of what it looked like to follow him.
